Tried this place for the first time a couple weeks back for lunch and I wish I had tried it sooner! The food and decor has a southwest theme to it. Everything about it is great. I had a taquito and enchilada lunch special and it was fresh and flavorful. You can tell they take pride in their food, both the taste and presentation. Service was also friendly. The only small blip was our check was dropped off and no one came back to take my credit card for a good 15 minutes. I had to go to the front eventually to track someone down. I think they might have been changing shifts and there was some confusion. No biggie. All in all a great place and I will definitely be back!

I was craving authentic Mexican food and yelp found me Blue Agave. Okay..Blue Agave is not authentic :P Ordered carne asada adovada, el nido & sopapillas. Carne asada adovada ($17.95): grilled skirt steak with a blackened tomatillo sauce served with a pasilla chile relleno,Texas beans, rice, tortillas. I was expecting a tastier dish, but it wasn't too bad. The sauce was good, but unfortunately the steak waa slightly overcooked. El nido ($10.95): chicken enchilada, chicken taco, served with Texas beans & rice. Not extraordinary, but it wasn't bad (according to my ninja) Side of guac ($1.95): just guac...you can't really mess it up. Sopapillas ($6.95): this dessert is a mess. It's like a combination of beignets, raspberry sauce, vanilla ice cream and whip cream. It's like they just throw everything together to create a dessert. The donuts tasted like they were fried in old oil :( 3 stars!! I am being generous with this review because the workers are wonderful. Blue Agave is almost yummylicious!!

Order came out wrong, which was fine. The waitress was really nice about it and said while the right thing was being made, to just to keep eating, she would have to through it away anyway. However, the manager didn't seem to agree with her and preferred to throw the food away. He approached our table and was rude and was treating us like we were trying to get something for nothing. I didn't mind that he took the food, I expected it. I just don't think there's ever a reason for a manager to be rude and treat the customer like the bad guy when the order was wrong and his emloyee told us to keep eating. Thank you. Apology accepted.

This place is a great little spot to have some great food. The food was delicious and the service was okay. They were busy so the service may have suffered from that but overall it was a great dinner for my family and we will definitely come back. One other quick note the parking is less then perfect so be patient and willing to walk a little.

Just ordered El Nido. Not bad but not quite authentic Mex. More like New Mexico. Very nice workers constantly check up us. Tried the dessert they recommended and didn't like it and they comped it. 4 star for the service and employees.

Been here twice in the last month and I'm super impressed! The menu is so fresh and different! I love that they offer like 5 different salads with fun infredients like mango, jicama, grilled vegetables, kale, sugared nuts, etc. The veggie quesadilla was AMAZING. it was stuffed with asparagus and mushrooms. Every single thing had wonderful flavors. The grilled vegetable salad is super good. And the cilantro lime dressing is fresh and light. Great unique spot!

We rolled in at 6:30 p.m. on Mother's Day without a reservation. I expected a crowd and a long wait. Wrong - we were seated promptly, and the restaurant had many empty tables. As we dined thought the tables filled up, and larger parties arrived. This was my first time here, but I've had the food at catered events. We ordered drinks an Agave Martini and a Margarita. I like a lot of salt on my Margarita, I had to ask for more. It was returned with only liberal salt on two thirds of the rim. I like 1/8-1/4" salt around the entire rim...The chips and salsa were good, tri-color tortilla chips, black, red and yellow. The salsa had a nice little bite to it. I could of course just exist on beer, chips, and salsa - but I fought the urge to gorge myself. I ordered the Rio Grande, a hard taco, cheese enchiladas, chile relano and rice and beans. The taco had a black tortilla (never had a black taco), was good and fresh tasting (I like a little more grease on my hard tacos). Usually chile relanos are two doughy, but no here there was no batter coating at all, just the chile roasted with white cheese inside. The enchiladas were good and tasty. I was the clean-up man and sampled my wife's carnita's plate (delicious!) and my son's kid's meal bean & cheese burrito. It was a good dining experience and made for a great , quiet Mother's Day.

We came here for dinner before a play at the local HS. I had the Kale Salad with Grilled Chicken and it was so good. My wife had the Pozole and she really enjoyed it. We normally don't chose Mexican Food when dining out but we didn't regret coming here. The service was on point as we were in a bit of a rush. Overall a very good experience and definitely worth coming back.

I grew up in Yorba Linda, and was shocked to realize I'd never been to or heard of Blue Agave. It's probably the best Tex-Mex restaurant in Orange County. Their Southwest decor reminds me of other Tex-Mex places, but Blue Agave has much more of a mom and pop vibe. The customer service was excellent. Our server was very prompt and attentive, and she refilled my Diet Coke and water glasses many times. The food was also served after a short wait. We didn't have to wait much for anything because the hostess was so on top of things. She was also very friendly and had a genuine smile. I had the Baja fish tacos. In addition to being delicious, the meal was attractively presented with the two large fish tacos served alongside a small bowl of chili and a dollop of sweet corn. The food went perfectly together because the chili was warm and smooth with mild spice, the tacos were crunchy, and the sweet corn was soft and cool. Our group had a great time and could not be more pleased with the food and service.

Tex Mex at its finest. I not a big fan of tex mex, I grew up living five miles from the California - Mexico border and refined my taste buds for good Mexican food. So having tex mex for dinner doesn't really get me exciting. Yet, as I picked apart every thing from the tamale to the enchiladas, I couldn't find anything I did like about the whole meal. It was Symphony of flavor going wild in my mouth. This place can cook! And if they can change my mind and make me a believer that tex mex can taste good, that says a lot about the quality of this place. The plates are served so eloquently and with style, I almost thought I was in a three star restaurant. Job well done!

When figuring out how to do the food at my wedding (venue that includes catering? finding my own caterer?) I was flabbergasted to find out that people can spend over $60 for one plate of food for one person. Ummm no thank you. Luckily I was recommended to Blue Agave by a person whose work caters with Blue Agave multiple times a year and they are always pleased with it. I cannot say enough good things about Blue Agave. George is amazing. He was so attentive to us when we did our first tasting and was prompt with getting us a quote. He was available for any questions I had during the five months between choosing them and the actual wedding. He was so low stress which in turn helped me be low stress. The actual day of the wedding I will be honest and say that I only ate half my plate of food, but that's because I was the bride and let's be real, you don't have a whole lot of downtime on your wedding day. :) But the half plate I did eat was phenomenal. After everything was said and done, the most comments I received the day of the wedding and in the few weeks since it happened were for my DJ and for the food. IT WAS SO GOOD. They make amazing food and they were great at catering. Oh and try $12/plate. Done and done.

A wonderful local restaurant. The food never disappoints; great flavors and presentation. On Tuesdays, it is happy hour in the bar and all appetizers are 1/2 off. The chicken and steak quesadillas are delish. The mango margarita is the best! Highly recommend!

Thank you Frank and Kortney!! We left Anaheim Hills/Yorba Linda four (4) years ago, and the ONLY thing we miss is Blue Agave!! Frank you are a breath of fresh air. Watching you bus tables, clean glasses behind the bar, and serve all tables is what a successful owner is all about. Thank you SO very much for having the EXACT formula, one needs, to stay in business for 20 plus years, in such a sleepy town. We hope to see you again soon~

Excellent in almost every way! Great location, easy access, quick seating for a 730 reservation and nice seating area. Great menu, lots of choices from which to choose, and I don't think you could go wrong with any choice! The five of us each had a different entree, and they all were really good.

I love the food here and its normally packed the people. We went there last night again. Crowded as usual so we sat in the bar area. Our server was named Kathleen (Server ID 15) and at first she was okay, but before I was finished with my food she came and asked if I needed a box... I was still eating! Then later after we boxed the rest of our food, as my husband and I were relaxing and talking (finally enjoying a date night) she came back to clean the table and then took my cocktail before I was even done with it! SO RUDE! There was only a few sips left but still, I felt totally rushed to get out of there. (Maybe she was at the end of her shift? But still!) She really needs to work on her customer service skills!!! :(

After driving past this place for many years, I finally took the plunge. I have heard good things about the Blue Agave, but I must admit I was underwhelmed. I ordered the sizzling fajitas. They were sizzling, but had a really odd flavor. The rice was cold and the beans looked like someone took a diarrhea dump on the plate. The corn tortillas were also cold and dry. I cannot stand guacamole anywhere on my plate. Unfortunately, that was the only moist thing that was on the plate. Sour cream would have been great. I do not think it was worth the amount that I paid. Doubtful that I will be back! In response to George G. I decided that since you found it necessary to comment on my comments to other businesses, I decided to honor you with 1 star.

One of our favorite local restaurants. Good service, tasty food, reasonable price. Especially their lunch menu, valid 7days a week. Great deal. Recommend the mango wrap and El Niño.

We recently relocated to Yorba Linda and have been looking for inexpensive, excellent quality and flavor Mexican place. We found it!! Carnitas Plate - I have eaten carnitas all over Los Angeles, San Diego, and even Mexico - these equal the best I have ever had. What a pleasant surprise :) These are more of the "soft" not "crunchy" style. Flavor was amazing. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Wow, what can I say... Blue Agave is a treasure...my wife had the Yucatan Chicken and I had the Enchiladas de La Coasta.. plus the Mexican Mules... first off, I would take this enchilada over the Lobster Enchilada at Javier's any time... just amazing. Plus our server, Andrea was very friendly and engaging... looks like we found our new Go-To place in Yorba Linda..

We had Blue Agave cater our grandpas 90th birthday. About 4 hours before the party we had to change locations. We went in to the restaurant and talked to Lynne. Her main concern was wondering why we were at the restaurant talking to her instead of getting the new location taken care of. She told us we could have just called. She was so concerned with us that she offered us lunch and drinks because she knew are day had just gotten that much tougher. She was so accommodating and helpful it was fantastic. She was great to work with through all of the planning. When the caterer showed up not only did he get his stuff set up but he also helped my brother get drinks out of his car. The set up looked great and the food was fantastic. They came back a few hours later to clean everything up. You could not tell that in his a few hours we had completely changed the venue. Plus the food was reasonably priced. We had 35 guests with 3 entrees, chips and salsa, set up, tear down, gratuity and tax for right around $500. We could not have been happier with the food and service and would highly recommend Blue Agave to anybody having an event.

First time here and pleasantly surprised. Ordered the Skirt Steak tacos and loved the added bacon along with a homemade corn tortilla. The ingredients were fresh and the salsa was terrific. All three salsas were delicious. Everything had plenty of flavor and a little kick. We were a party of 7 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Couple of side notes...the chips were excellent and my daughters tamale was tasty.

Food was surprisingly delicious. Their lunch specials are excellent and it runs from 11-3. I had the Carnitas and it was super bomb, the pork was cooked perfectly. Took a star off because our server was a little rude. Will be back to try the West Texas plate.

This is the only restaurant I miss since moving to south county!!! I grew up eating here with my family but it has probably been almost 10 years since I last ate at Blue Agave. Since moving to Newport from San Diego, I have been craving my old childhood haunt. Tonight my parents brought me a to go order and I have to say, nothing has changed! The food is so delicious and fresh. I can tell they have not skimped on using fresh ingredients. Even though my food had to survive a 30 minute car ride, the cheese in my enchilada instantly became ooey gooey again upon reheating...the mark of a truly good cheese! I was reminded that I need to make the pilgrimage back to Yorba Linda from time to time if for no other reason than to savor this tex mex gem!!! And it's nice to hear that George and his family still run the place! Icing on the cake!!

Last night Blue Agave catered our party for 53 people. To say the food was delicious is an understatement. Guests were talking about it all night, that and how they ate too much. Besides the great food, the service was outstanding. From setup to presentation to cleanup, we could not be more pleased. We had enchiladas, chicken tamales and a chicken tostada bar. Add the chips, salsa, rice, black beans, sweet corn cake and guacamole, there was more than we could possible eat. If you are looking for a caterer for your party, choose Blue Agave. You won't be disappointed.

I've been coming here for years and years. Every time, the food is FANTASTIC. It always tastes fresh ( which is extremely important to me) and the owner/chef is always around making sure everything is perfect. I'm a life long customer. Absolutely delicious EVERYTIME!

They catered our holiday party and we all were ranting and raving on their food, display and set up and how much we all enjoyed it. I finally was able to actually go to their restaurant and I must say it was amazing!! They have early bird specials on their food and you can get en entire meal for under $7! Their children menu has a nice variety as well and comes with two sides and a drink! Their guacamole is very good and made at your table. The restaurant filled up quickly and their service was great! My husband, child and I ate their for lunch and our bill was around $35 with appetizer too! We will be back! It's great food and a nice change from El Torito style food.

I randomly found this restaurant through Yelp while I was in Yorba Linda. I am an Asian and don't know much about Mexican food. Normally I don't know what to get at Mexican restaurants so I tell servers to bring me the best food. I did the same thing here. The waitress was very friendly. I got today's special menu. I don't even know what to call it. It was fully loaded with a lot of ingredients and very delicious. I am a picky eater. I tell you Blue Agave is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been in my life

This review is for their catering. Office had them cater today and we had cheese enchiladas, carnitas, chicken on a stick, rice, beans, tortilla chips, salad, salsa, guacamole, and warm tortillas. The food was all so good, and a winner with all who attended the luncheon. There was enough for seconds, and the gal sent from Blue Agave to serve the food was kind, and courteous. I don't live near Yorba Linda, but if I'm ever in the area I would dine at the restaurant. Hope these guys cater our future events.

. . . . I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews. I am vividly aware of how it feels to be told you or your product were less than par; however, these reviews are necessary and helpful and healthy, WHEN they are constructive and produce change. I will be brief and to the point, in the hopes of improving the quality of service and caliber of food for future visiting patrons. The service: we were tended to by a very sweet, very young waitress who seemed to have her hands quite full. She was not able to make it over to our table to fill up water or check to see how we were enjoying the food. At one point, hoping to liven up my meal, I asked her to bring me a side of the dressing that was already lightly drizzled over the taco. She brought it, and when we received the bill, I was astounded to realize I was charged 2.25 -- for a teeny tiny side of dressing that was already a part of my meal. Had she informed there would be a surcharge, I would never had ordered it. The food: I am so sad. There is nothing my husband and I enjoy more than a good Mexican dish. Blue Agave had our highest optimism, having experienced their food in a different venue. We started with a quesadilla that was, in fact, very good. The sauce, which I believe was some chipotle/apple combination, rescued what may have been an oily, over-saturated flour tortilla, and transformed into to savory yum. After that we moved on to the Montego Bay Coconut Shrimp. Oh how I was looking forward to an exquisitely cooked piece of battered shrimp. Crispy, flavorful, tender. It was none of these things. As a viewer of Restaurant Impossible I have learned a few things about frying food. If done incorrectly the result is a tough, chewy, over-flavored hunk of meat. The bread was caked on the shrimp and sweating oil. There was so much grease we had to use napkins to blot it. This dish is one of their revered appetizers, priced on the higher end, at $14. I expected something extravagant for $14. The final meal, which at this point I can't remember exactly what we ordered, was again so-so. Bland, over-cooked, attempting to be salvaged by creams and sauces. In the end, I would have preferred On The Border, El Torito or, for a fancier affair, Sol. We gave Blue Agave the opportunity to win us over based on their catering; and this is where I want to acknowledge and congratulate them for an outstanding catering department. We have been to two functions now at which the meal was hosted by Blue Agave, and neither times were we disappointed. Everything was beautifully set-up and arranged, everything kept warm in pans, and the food was basic but phenomenal. The guacamole especially was delicious. If they can just find some way to pour more love and attention into their menu items, rather than pound out rudimentary dishes, I believe they would attract and keep visiting customers. Clearly I am in the minority with this review, as they have achieved a solid 4 star rating. It is always possible that they were having an off-night, or that I went in with way too high of expectations. Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Lastly, I must also mention that the aesthetics could use a little updating. Carpet in a restaurant is just . . . no. I hope this has been helpful to customers and staff alike.

About 7 years ago, I would have given Blue Agave 5 stars. It was a family favorite and a go to stop after a long day at work. They have the best deep fried ice cream you can find in OC and their chips and salsa are satisfying. Unfortunately, it seems like they need to work on their food prep. I had to bail on hiking due to an extreme reaction I had to their orange marmalade beef and chicken skewers. Some of my other friends have also gotten good poisoning here. Maybe it's their refrigeration? It makes me really hesitant to come back except for dessert.

I don't know of many southwestern style restaurants in this area or even in surrounding areas but I wanted to try something new and I'm glad I did! Taste has been top notch every time I've been here so they're consistent! I really love this spot and it's become one of my go-to's. Most of the seating is booth seating so I really love that! When you arrive and check in with the reception you are typically seated right away. Once seated, the friendly and cheerful staff brings a fresh batch of complimentary chips and salsa (Great taste on both) The menu is complex and offers something for everyone! You can literally try ANYTHING and you can't lose! As long as this place is around, I'll be a frequent customer. Try it out! You won't be sorry!

A friend from work recommended the Blue Agave. So the wife and I finally tried it out last night. The menu is extensive with lots of selections. The pricing is very reasonable. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa is good and the bite sneaks up on you. The wife had chicken tortilla soup for starter and a chicken fajita enchilada for dinner. I started with chicken pozole and the Rio Grande combo plate which consist of steak hard shell tacos, chile relleno, chicken enchilada and tamal. Service was great and the food were fantastic. I would recommend this place and definitely go back again.

Good vibe from the staff, its my first time and the chips and salsa were ok but the made in front of you guacamole reminds me of my grandmas magic guac! Then the meal came out, the plating was definitely not expected. It all looked too good to eat. I had the Apache chicken. Very good.

I have come to really enjoy the unique flavors that Blue Agave has to offer. When I was younger, after the chips and salsa, I remember being at a loss as to what to order. Each menu item had a twist that I didn't like or a spin that was a little too much out of my comfort zone. Years later, I am continuously trying new items on the menu with glee. I am no expert in "Tex Mex" lingo, or really any aspect of it. I just love that my chicken salad comes with a unique dressing, or my enchiladas get a corn husk filled with some sweet corn paste on the side. The staff working there is wonderful. This restaurant is a favorite of my dad and mine. It is a great place to catch up and have a creative meal.

We have been dining at Blue Agave for over 16 years . The food is always excellent. The staff is always friendly. The menu changes enough to spice things up a bit if you can tear yourself away from your favorites. The bar serves up a nice variety of drinks. They also cater.

Nice and flavorful. Outside it looks like just another restaurant in a strip mall, but inside its super colorful and alive, much like the flavors in the food they serve. Instead of getting mexican, i come here now, the service is also great, i've been here 3 times one time it was holiday weekend and it was packed yet the food and service were still great. I would def. try something new and something with one of their salsas. I am yet to try everything and still would return for more. They also have some great mojitos and mexican beers to choose from. Everything is good here.

This is a nice Mexican restaurant in Yorba Linda. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. However the service could be better on the drink refills. This Strawberry Cilantro Margarita was excellent, but would be better with a little less cilantro. We order the steak Picado (recommended) and the chicken enchiladas with mole (also a good choice). I recommend this place to anyone for a nice sit down Mexican meal.

Don't like leaving negative comments. Very unclean place. One time I went there had to ask for a waiter because no took our order after 40 minutes. Last time we went i was eating my salad and bit into a long piece of hair. How disgusting. I will never go back. Yes George g I was at the blue agave in Yorba linda not somewhere else.

The moment I walked in, I absolutely loved the environment. The service was phenomenal, everyone was so kind, especially the owner and his wife. Wonderful people, wonderful food, wonderful restaurant! The food was delicious and it's presented in a nice way! I couldn't believe the price, you will not be disappointed! I will definitely be coming back and bringing my family and friends.

I'm confused about this place. People in Yorba Linda go on and on and on about how great it is. Maybe it's because they think it's ethnic, not a chain, and off the beaten path...or maybe because they've never had good food...I'm confused at the positive response to this place. I've tried it 10+ times because I wanted to give it a chance to make me believe I was just having an off day, but so far, there's basically one thing on the menu I can stomach - Tempe tacos. I've tried the crispy and baja style fish tacos. I've had the carnitas and all of the enchiladas. I've also tried the Apache chicken entree, as well as the Yucatan chicken. In the end, I think there are two things that ruin every single one of the dishes - the sauces and the lack of flavor (absent the sauces). Everything is oversauced. And it would be ok if the sauces were amazing, but they are not. If you remove as much sauce as possible, you're left with something flat, flavorless food. Let's take the Yucatan-style chicken. Just because you stuff a chicken breast with other ingredients doesn't suddenly give the breast flavor. You need to marinade or brine that or something before you even think about stuffing it. And the mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes inside? Better than the chicken they stuff because they have natural flavors that don't require much to shine. The melding of flavors requires attention to each ingredient, and the chicken is ignored in the process apparently because they idea is you'll love what's stuffed inside of it. If the chicken can't stand on its own, it shouldn't be stuffed with anything. Then there's the Apache chicken. The first time I ordered it, I was full of hope, dreaming that it would be the one item on the menu where the chef decided not to please some generic, Chili's/Mimi's/Polly's loving people, in hopes of sneaking some taste into the menu for people who appreciate actual flavor. No such luck. As with the Yucatan chicken, the Apache chicken is sauce-dependent, and the sauce isn't good enough to merit ignoring the chicken. Think about it...haven't you ever had a Pio Pio sauce that was so good, you could have it on the worst french fries, the most bland chicken, or whatever, and the sauce was strong enough to make you not care about the protein? That is not the case here. The sauce is mediocre, so it makes you wonder if the chicken will shine, and it doesn't. All in all- bland food hidden by so-so sauce. I'll chalk that up to lazy cooking, because I'm sure it takes more effort to flavor every single element on the plate, and that's clearly something not being done here. Now let me tell you where this restaurant wins: 1. Chips and salsa. They're tasty and abundant. Possibly the best element of the entire restaurant experience. 2. The place is never empty- at least none of the times I've visited. That's a great thing for a place with mediocre food, because it makes you think, "well, if it's crowded, it must be good." Traffic school is also crowded. 3. The bar- I've never enjoyed the bar, but I can see how it adds to the mix. If you're a drinker and don't like the Canyon Inn vibe, this kind of addition makes sense. And I'm sure the restaurant loves the overflow business. 4. It has the "hidden gem" attribute, because the truth is, there's nothing else like it in Yorba Linda. So good or bad, you have a certain aspect of the population that is just happy to have some variety- and I get that completely. 5. Families with kids are welcome. That's always a plus.

Came here for taco Tuesday with some friends and it was not what I expected. Chips and salsa were provided, sure that's standard, but there was no taco Tuesday special. Idk what mexico style restaurant doesn't offer that on Tuesdays but whatever. I had chicken Flautas which were over cooked. Our server was a blonde whom seemed to be irritated the entire night maybe she was just having a bad night. The food was nothing I couldn't live without and the service was definitely something I could. Wouldn't come back here

Just had one of the best dining experiences in a long time thanks to a very knowledgeable Chelsea. She took the time and with passion explained all about the wonderful flavors I was experiencing in the Hopi appetizer platter especially the mango peach flavor. She also let me know about the skewers and how I can get other combinations on the platter plus it is half price during happy hour. I have been coming here for 10 plus years and that was the best time so far.

I come to this restaurant on a regular basis when I am in town and the food is always fantastic! Unique, original and well prepared! Cara, as a patron that was there that night, you and your husband cannot remember the main course because you had too much to drink! We were collectively embarrassed for you and I think you would enjoy the food more if you drank less! As for the food it is always the best! A must for Mexican food in Orange County!

Had lunch and dinner here on multiple occasions and I absolutely love this place! Decor and atmosphere is on point with the food. My favorites are the Baja Fish tacos and the Hacienda Fajitas Enchiladas, my mouth is watering just thinking about either one. The chips and salsa are also terrific, you can definitely taste the freshness. I constantly recommend Blue Agave to all of my friends and family.

I had a great lunch at Blue Agave today. Never been before but had heard good things about it from a guy at work. I tried to recruit a posse from work but only got a couple of takers and a couple of to-go orders. Oh well their loss. yelp.com/biz_photos/_SzZ… As we walked in a smiling hostess quickly escorted us to our seats. Looking around I thought wow this is a pretty nice place. Clean, well decorated and something (others food) smelled good! The place was about 1/4 full at 12:00 as we got there. 1/2 by the time we left. Within a minute our server took our drink orders and in another minute another dude brings us chips & salsa. Crap I forgot my camera in the truck... run and get it... 45 seconds later 1/2 the chips are gone! yelp.com/biz_photos/_SzZ… My chip hoarding buddies had eaten half a basket in less than a min. I tried one of the warm, fresh, thin, crunchy, blue, red, yellow, lightly salted, not oily,(baked?) perfect chips! And a nice tomato, onion, cilantro based mild salsa like I make for family events. Best adjective = GREAT! Those suckers were gone in like 3 minute's, but wait there's more! Dude brought another basket and 2 more bowls of salsa without us even asking! Nice service. 5 ***** Star Chips n salsa and service! Food Ordered: Our server had returned mid chip fest with our drinks and took our orders. 2 West Texas yelp.com/biz_photos/_SzZ… 1 El Nido yelp.com/biz_photos/_SzZ… 2 Steak & Shroom wraps (to go) Leftover half. (lame pic) yelp.com/biz_photos/_SzZ… The food was on our table very quick. Speedy service! A+ FOOD Review: West Texas Lunch deal $6.95 2 Taquitos (your choice) I got 1 beef (blue tort.) & 1 chicken (yellow tort), the pork filled chile verde covered enchilada was deceptively full of nice tender meat, served with Texas beans (good) and rice (kinda plain) and a sweet little dab of a corn cake deal. 4.5 **** Stars El Nido Lunch deal $6.95 One chicken taco, chicken enchilada, served with Texas beans and rice. My friend said he thought it was a great lunch and he left full and happy. 4 **** Stars Steak and Mushroom waps to go. (I got 1/2 order leftover) $6.95 Marinated steak, mushrooms, cilantro, mixed greens and white rice tossed in a raspberry vinaigrette and wrapped in a large flour tortilla. Served with borracho beans. The borracho beans ROCK! The burrito had a kind of Caribbean taste to it. Must have been the raspberry rice. They also packed a Huge bag of chips and a very nice sized container of salsa with these to-go orders. 4 **** Stars Old can in my garage.... s3-media3.ak.yelpcdn.com… Service here is very good. We got visited several times to check on our food. Multiple drink refills and quick check out. Nice price Too! Big portions! A little different twist on Tex Mex as a Caribbean influence was also there in some of the dishes. Good food! Service adds a plus one Star! I'll be back!

This place is a true treasure in Orange County cuisine. Having been coming here for at least 15 years I have never had a single bad experience, and consistently leave feeling blown away by just how good their food (always) is. Highlights are the Hacienda Fajitas Enchiladas, Shrimp Fajitas, and you can never go wrong with the Hopi Appetizer platter. This place is truly a gem...increase your quality of life by trying to go at least once per week.

    I have never had southwestern food like this. The flavors were definitely not boring and so many varieties of salsa. I was already hooked and I havent even ordered yet! The appetizer we ordered were the chicken citrus flautas. So good, it had me saying mmm on the first bite. This new experience was already looking good. I ordered the Ensenada shrimp tacos and the blueberry mint mojito. Wow, my taste buds were in heaven. My drink was strong and sweet. The mint and blueberry is a great combination. The shrimp was delicious with the lime cilantro slaw (and I am not a fan of slaw) add that ginger chipotle tartar sauce and you get this amazing concotion of deliciousness. The flavors partied in my mouth. Plus the Cotija cheese (my fav) really tied everything together. Mmm and the beans, the borracho beans are so damn good! Its the first thing I tried cause the way I see it, if the beans or the rice arent good then the rest of the food isnt going to be. Thankfully this wasnt the case. These beans were amazingly good, I mean BACON in my beans?! Uhh yes please! My mouth is watering just thinking of em.. Now for the service. The girls were friendly and oh so kind! Not only were they sweet but very helpful with the menu for new customers. I would most definitely come back. Blue agave, you just made a customer for life (;

I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal or experience. Love the chips and the spicy salsa! Great TEX MEX food...my favorite are the blue corn cheese enchiladas. Everything else that I have had is great as well...EARLY BIRD SPECIAL!!!

Wowza, this place is teeming with gringos. More authentic food can be found nearby. This place seems to be frequented by gringo retirees and others who miss vacationing in the southwest, Mexico, or Latin America. Come during traditional happy hours for a good deal on dinner entrees. Other important info: parking can be difficult at times, southwest décor, and go during traditional happy hour for discounted dinner entrees.

I've been driving by this restaurant for years and finally tried it. I had the taquito app and barbacoa enchiladas. Yum. Really great food reasonably priced. My husband had beef fajitas and he said they were about the best. The drinks also good and won't cost an arm and a leg. Excellent service by Brianna M. Not annoying and was super helpful. The only thing that might have been even a bit negative is the restaurant can be really loud and it's difficult to carry on a conversation.

Always beautifully plated, delicious food with excellent service. Some of the best tortilla soup I have ever had. It is so thick and vegetable-y, it is almost like a stew! It has chicken & beef in it, too. MmmmMm...totally recommend it. Also, the Skinny Margarita is really good. Not too sweet and perfectly strong.

The food, the service are consistently outstanding. I had the Tempe Tacos with steak tonite. Great taste, terrific presentation. Incredibly unique flavors in all their dishes. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Wait staff works together to provide great service. Every meal is a treat. Prices are far lower than they should be for what you get!

Always enjoy our dinners here. Carnitas are my general go to, never disappointed. Plantain nachos are a great example of the varied menu. Although it's an appetizer plenty of meat and fresh toppings to be a meal. Service is consistently friendly, attentive, and quick.

Wedding Caterer: I purposely found a venue where I could bring in my own caterer because my friend had Blue Agave cater her wedding and it was the best wedding dinner I had ever had... and I have been to more weddings than I would like to count. George at Blue Agave did not disappoint. The food is beyond amazing. Several of my guests said they went back for a second plate and many have asked where in the world we got our caterer because they absolutely loved the food. Now honestly, how often do you hear that from guests? Most of the weddings I have attended are the typical chicken/steak and the chicken is dry and the side dishes are less than wonderful and people pay $60-$80 a plate! .. for bad food! It's crazy. My husband and I are foodies so it was very important to us that our guests enjoyed what they were eating. They LOVED it!! The price is shockingly budget friendly at about $12/person. We also had Blue Agave provide our beer and wine at about the same price of $12/person. They provide margaritas as well included with that price but our venue didn't allow hard alcohol. If you want appetizers that is a bit more and depending on how big your guest list is, there is a fee for wait staff. But it was all amazingly priced and for incredible food! With appetizers, dinner, beer/wine, wait staff (they cut and serve the cake too), and tax & gratuity for about 270 guest it came down to about $42/person. It's really hard to believe! Appetizers were amazing! Chicken flautas - yum, steak & chicken skewers - tender and tasty, & Belgium endive - melts in your mouth. Dinner: Apache chicken breast - tender and flavorful, a must have!, Ancho cheese & spinach enchiladas - to die for, and carnitas with flour tortillas! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Working with George and Lynn was incredible - they were so helpful and friendly and seem to really understand the stress of wedding planning and ease all concerns. We really enjoyed going in to taste the food beforehand too! Yum!!

Our family arrived just before closing for a late night dinner. We were greeted and seated quite nicely. The chips were warm and the salsa was perfect. I ordered the tortilla soup..delicious. All of us enjoyed every bite of our tasty meals. We will return for certain. It's the best!! Seriously.

Today was my first time visiting Blue Agave. The experience was underwhelming, but I think it may be that i don't like TexMex, or their food was just ok. Not sure since I can't remember eating TexMex food before. In my opinion the food was bland and not really that great. The service was fine, no problem there. And the location is nice inside. I will not be returning.

I tried this restaurant for a company catered event. I tried the spinach and cheese enchilada, chicken taquitos, corn cake, rice, beans, and chicken fajitas. The food was delicious and is comparable to other "tex mex" restaurants in the area. I definitely want to check out the actual restaurant since I drive past it often. The chips and guacamole were also a nice appetizer.

OMG I freaking LOVE this place!!!! I used to come here every so often as a kid with my dad. I hadn't been here in probably around 7 years, So I was hoping my tastebuds memory wasn't being blown out of proportion. I did get to have it once about a year ago but at a baby shower that was catered by Blue Agave, and It was the bomb-diggity. I remembered the steak being the best thing to ever hit my buds. Well, I had it again and needless to say, I am OBSESSED with the steak. It is SO FREAKING GOOD. I don't know what they do to it but I wish I could eat it every day. It's what I got as a kid, and it's what I got the other night. I also love the beans and rice. I'm very picky about mexican rice, and 9/10 times I don't eat it, but I love the rice here. Nom. The steak plate comes with tortillas which I felt like got cold kinda quickly, but I was too distracted by my delicious steak to care. I love making my own little burritos! OH! and that corn stuff that comes on the place is like crack. I generally don't eat corn(our bodies cant digest it) but I gladly make an exception for this corn. It's like your dinner comes with dessert! Something to consider if you are coming here, it's LOUD. I was here with my family, including my crotchety old 83 year old grandparents, and they were miserable the whole time. They literally had their fingers in their ears. The back room is a bit quieter, so hopefully that helps. Chips and salsa are great, service was GREAT, ambiance is nice, and if you order the steak nothing else will matter anyway because you'll be too distracted flying away on your mental steak cloud...

Hands down some of the best mexican food! The Pastor burritos are to die for and the sauces were still spectacular! Gotta try, they cater too!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
